This page covers what happens to the information you give us through this website. It is short because the site collects very little: there is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking cookie on it.
Who is responsible
Busy Bureau is the data controller for anything submitted through this site. We operate from the Philippines and work with clients in the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. Because we handle personal data belonging to people in the UK and the EU, we apply the UK GDPR standard to everyone, wherever they are.
Questions, requests and complaints all go to team@thebusybureau.com and are answered by a person within one working day.
What we collect
The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic of your enquiry and your message.
The project brief at /start asks for the same plus, where you choose to give them, your last name, company, website, sector, which package you are considering, your budget range, your timeframe and the brief itself.
The newsletter form collects an email address and nothing else.
Both forms carry a hidden field that real visitors never fill in. If it comes back completed we treat the submission as automated and discard it.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
To reply to you, and to have the conversation you started. Under UK GDPR that is legitimate interest for the enquiry forms — you asked us to get in touch — and consent for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any email.
We do not sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising. We do not add enquiry addresses to the newsletter list.
Where it is stored, and who else sees it
Form submissions are written to a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, which acts as our processor. The database is configured so that the public key used by this website can only insert rows — it cannot read, change or delete anything, so no visitor and no script on this page can retrieve what anyone else has submitted.
The site itself is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs including IP addresses for a short period, as any web host does.
Nobody outside the Busy Bureau team reads your enquiry. We do not share it with partners, advertisers or lead brokers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted after twenty-four months. Records belonging to clients are kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, which is the period business records normally have to be retained for.
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no session tracking and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
The only thing stored in your browser is a single preference — whether you chose the light or dark theme — which is kept in local storage on your own device, is never sent to us, and is cleared when you clear your browser data.
If we ever add analytics we will add a consent banner at the same time and update this page before it goes live.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to us holding it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email team@thebusybureau.com and we will action it within thirty days, usually much sooner. There is no charge and we will not ask you why.
If you are in the UK and you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first, but it is your right either way.
Changes to this notice
If this changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects people who have already contacted us, say so directly rather than quietly editing the page.
